Dahab

Ricks Reef

Ricks Reef is a shallow coastal reef off Dahab, Egypt, popular with local divers for easy, relaxed dives. The site features a sloping reef wall with patchy coral growth, sandy patches in the vicinity, and abundant macro life. Expect calm conditions in good visibility, typical of the Gulf of Aqaba side of the Red Sea, with shelter from mild currents. Common species include reef fish such as parrotfish, damselfish, and butterflyfish, plus occasional lionfish and moray eels. Access is straightforward from the shoreline; shore entries and exits are common, making it suitable for beginners and training dives when seas are calm. The site lies close to the Dahab shoreline, within a short drive from Dahab town and nearby dive centers.
