Dahab

Eel Garden

Eel Garden is a shallow coastal reef site off Dahab, known for its tangled garden of long, eel-dominated crevices and soft corals. Divers typically enter from the beach or a shallow propped site and follow a gentle slope to about 12–20 metres where garden eels, garden-friendly Moray eels, and an array of small reef fish flourish around rock ledges and sandy patches. Visibility is often good in Dahab’s calm conditions, with mild to moderate currents that are suitable for recreational divers. The site offers pleasant underwater scenery and opportunities to observe schooling fish, solitary morays, and varied invertebrates along the reef edge. It is a beginner-friendly site when visited in calm conditions and with proper buoyancy control, though look out for occasional surge near the sand pockets. Nearby Dahab amenities provide easy access and shore setups. Dive planning should consider local currents and weather windows.
