Kihei
Kihei
Kihei is a calm, sandy-bottomed tropical dive environment on Maui's south shore. The site is typically a shallow reef and ledge system with gentle entry from the beach or a short boat ride, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. Expect clear tropical water, (+/-) moderate visibility, and a variety of small reef fish, wrasses, damselfish, and occasional sea turtles or reef visitors around the rocky outcrops. Depths usually stay in the shallow to mid-range, with a natural progression from near-surface swim-throughs to gentle slope drops. The nearby coast offers easy access from Kihei and nearby towns, with several local dive centers that operate dedicated trips to Kihei-area sites and the nearby Molokini region.
