Nice

Grotte à Corail

Grotte à corail is a local Mediterranean dive site off the Nice area, typically accessed from the coast near Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The site centers on a coral-covered cavity and surrounding rocky slopes that drop into the shallow to mid waters. Access is straightforward from shore or boat, with entry often from a sheltered bay. Conditions are generally calm in good weather, with visibility commonly several meters to a few tens of meters depending on currents and season. The site features a mix of rocky walls, sandy patches, and coral formations home to typical Western Mediterranean life such as groupers, ornate wrasse, moray eels, octopus, and small nudibranchs. Depths are shallow to moderate, making it suitable for beginners under supervision and for practice dives, but always plan around local conditions and boat traffic.
