Turtle Patch, Sipadan
Turtle Patch is a sandy-bottom site off Sipadan known for its resident sea turtles and clear water. Divers typically approach from Sipadan Island and descend to around 10–24 meters, where the patch of sand hosts camouflaged critters and occasional reef fish. The site is characterized by gentle slopes and mild currents, making it accessible to intermediate divers. Expect frequent encounters with hawksbill or green turtles and a mix of reef fish such as jacks, wrasse, and snapper, with a backdrop of Sipadan’s famed macro life. Access is usually done from nearby liveaboards or shore drops from Sipadan by experienced operators; local conditions can vary with tides and wind.
