Spianata di capo Gallo is a shore dive site just off Palermo, offering a straightforward entry from the rocky coastline. The site features a gently sloping seabed with mixed sand and rocky outcrops, typically within a shallow to mid-depth range suitable for open-water and beginner to intermediate divers. Visibility is usually fair to good in calm conditions, and currents are generally mild. The underwater topography includes small crevices and scattered hard corals, with common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, wrasse, and octopus likely to be seen around the rocky outcrops. The site is easily combined with a visit to nearby Isola delle Femmine for a two-stop day of diving along the Palermo coast.
