Franata dell’Ancora is a coastal Sicilian dive site near Isola delle Femmine and Palermo. The site sits along the shallow rocky seabed typical of the northern Sicily coast, with easy access from nearby towns. Expect a bottom ranging from just a few meters to the mid-teens, depending on the exact spot and entry, with clear Mediterranean visibility in calm conditions. The site is known for its rugged walls and patches of sandy patches, hosting common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, moray eels, barracudas, wrasses and octopus, along with posidonia meadows in suitable depths.
