Shark Reef

Shark Reef is a coastal reef site near Florida’s Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, typically accessed from shore or a short boat ride. The site features a shallow structure that gradually drops into deeper sand and seagrass zones. Expect typical tropical Atlantic underwater life: grouper, snapper, reef fishes, moray eels, and occasional rays. Visibility varies with conditions, usually best with calm seas and moderate currents. Entry from the beach or a nearby pier is common, with comfortable conditions for experienced beach divers and open-water, as well as for training dives in calm weather. The site is popular for its clear water and straightforward navigation along the reef edge and rocky outcrops.
