Mark'S Ledge

Mark's Ledge is a shallow-to-moderate depth reef feature off Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in Florida. The site typically forms a rocky ledge and small crevices with comfortable entry from the beach or a boat, depending on conditions. Visibility is commonly fair to good in calm conditions, and currents are usually light but can pick up with tides. The area supports typical Western Atlantic reef life: parrotfish, snapper, grunts, snook, moray eels, and a variety of small reef fish. The site is accessible to trained divers with basic buoyancy skills and is suitable for beginners under supervision. Local dive centers in nearby Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Pompano Beach offer guided trips and rentals. Nearby towns provide easy logistics for shore entries or short boat rides. Dive with awareness of boat traffic and local regulations, and always plan for current and visibility changes around wispy surface conditions.
