Zonnemaire

Ruines Van Bommenede

Ruines van Bommenede is a local Dutch dive site near the towns of Zonnemaire, Brouwershaven and Dreischor in the Zeeland region. The site sits in brackish to coastal waters with a shallow to moderate depth profile typical of sheltered Dutch wreck and reef-scapes. Divers usually explore the sunken remains of the historic fortification and associated rubble, with easy entry from a calm shore or a small boat, depending on conditions. Expect clear to moderate visibility and a bottom composed of sand and soft sediment around the wreck debris. The site supports common North Sea–Atlantic species such as smaller wrasses, gobies and snakelocks anemones along with several juvenile fish that take shelter among the wreckage. It is suitable for recreational divers with basic wreck-awareness and buoyancy control; drift is possible in minor currents, so plan your entry and exit accordingly.
