Planetas

Planetas is a local dive site near Mataró and the Barcelona coastline. The site features a shallow, gently sloping seabed with rocky ridges and patches of Posidonia meadows typical of coastal Catalonia. Entry is usually from a rocky shore or small slipway, making it accessible for local divers and training runs. Visibility is variable but generally ranges from modest to good in calm conditions. Common Mediterranean species in the area include wrasses, gobies, damselfish, octopus, moray eels, and occasional sea bream, with the nearby shelf supporting a productive shallow environment. The site is well-suited for beginner to intermediate divers and for training dives, with several safe anchoring points and clear exit routes. Nearby towns and beaches provide easy access for day trips of less than a half hour from the main hubs listed.
