Palace Reef

Palace Reef is a shallow coral reef dive site off the coast near San Miguel de Cozumel. Access is straightforward from local beaches, with typical conditions including clear tropical water and gentle to moderate currents depending on tides. The reef features a mosaic of bommies and/ or small overhangs with healthy coral cover and a variety of reef fish common to the Cozumel area, such as parrotfish, angelfish, damselfish and grunts. Visibility is usually good, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers, and it offers opportunities for drift diving when currents are stronger. Entry typically involves a smooth descent from the calm, shallow top to the deeper edge, with a maximum depth generally within recreational limits.
