Haad Hin Khom

Mosquito Island Reef

Mosquito Island Reef is a tropical reef dive site off the north coast of Koh Samui, Thailand. Located near MoKo islands channel, access is typically via a short boat transfer from nearby coastal towns. The reef runs along a sloping bottom from shallow hawks around the 6–12 m range down to about 20–25 m, with a mix of soft corals, hard corals, and a healthy fish population. Expect clear tropical water with good visibility and gentle to moderate currents, suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. Common reef inhabitants include parrotfish, unicornfish, damselfish, wrasse, clownfish among anemones, and occasional pelagic sightings on deeper sections. The site is known for structured coral formations, small swim-throughs, and opportunities to explore macro life in crevices. Access from Haad Hin Khom, Haad Yao and Ao Nang is straightforward, with nearby dive centers offering briefings and gear rental. Always plan for currents and respect marine life and local regulations.
