Capoliveri
Morcone Bay
Morcone Bay is a shallow, sheltered bay suitable for entry-level diving along Elba’s coast. The site typically features sandy bottoms interspersed with rocky outcrops, with calm, clear water and mild to moderate currents depending on conditions. Expect Mediterranean species common to the region such as damselfish, wrasse, octopus, and crabs, with occasional sea urchins and small shoals near the rocky patches. The bay is easy to reach from Capoliveri, Porto Azzurro and nearby towns, and is often used for beginner courses and relaxed drift dives when conditions allow. Entry is straightforward from the shore or a short boat hop, making Morcone Bay a practical option for improving buoyancy and navigation skills in a protected setting.
