Around the Tuscan archipelago (including Elba), divers commonly find rocky reefs, boulder fields, and drop-offs, with visibility that varies by season and weather. Conditions are usually best in calmer months, while water can be cooler outside the summer peak. Marine life is typical of the Mediterranean: octopus, cuttlefish, octopus-like cephalopods, schools of small fish, and frequent observations of nudibranchs and other invertebrates on rocky habitat.
