Sumberkima

Mangroves

Mangroves is a shallow, sheltered dive site in a tropical bay area, primarily characterized by dense mangrove networks at the shoreline and clear, calm water nearby. Access is straightforward from coastal shores, with easy entry suitable for beginners and practice dives. The site offers a calm, sheltered environment with soft-bottom areas and seagrass beds transitioning to sandy patches near the mangroves. Marine life is typical of sheltered tropical habitats, including small reef fishes, gobies, snappers, crabs, and occasional juvenile reef species. Visibility is generally moderate to good in calm conditions, and currents are light, making it appropriate for introductory dives and training. The surrounding mangroves host a variety of invertebrates and provide a sheltered nursery environment for many species. Nearby towns include Sumberkima and Gerokgak, both within a few kilometers and convenient for shore access, while Parasputih lies a longer drive away for day trips.
