L’eveillé

L’Eveillé is a shallow, beginner-friendly Mauritian dive site near Flic en Flac on the west coast. It typically features a gentle sloping seabed with scattered coral outcrops and patches of sand, making for easy entry and relaxed navigation. Depths are commonly shallow, with gentle drop-offs forming small walls and ledges. The area is known for clear tropical waters, moderate visibility, and a calm, sheltered environment influenced by offshore reefs. Expect common western Indian Ocean reef-associated species such as angelfish, parrotfish, wrasse, moray eels, and occasional octopus or reef sharks, depending on currents. The site’s proximity to coastal towns offers straightforward access for day trips from Flic en Flac, Bambous, or Tamarin, each within a short drive. Always dive within your training limits and current conditions, as marine life and visibility can vary with wind and tides.
