Portovenere
Grotta Del Tinetto
Grotta del Tinetto is a small, sheltered cave dive located off the Portovenere/Liguria coast. The site features a shallow entrance that opens into a grotto with a narrow tunnel and a succession of delightful rock formations. Entry is typically from a gentle slope or rock ledge, with best conditions occurring in calm weather and gentle currents. Depths are shallow at the entry, with the cave widening as you go deeper, offering a manageable swim-through for experienced amateurs and trained cave divers. The site is known for clear water, interesting stalactite-like formations, and a calm ambiance that suits training dives or exploratory dives along the cave walls. Typical Mediterranean marine life—small groupers, wrasse, damselfish, and octopus—inhabits the surrounding rocky corridor and crevices, while posidonia meadows lie nearby in the broader littoral zone.
