Canyon Mauritius

Canyon Mauritius is a drift dive site along the steep drop-offs of the island’s western coast. Access is typically by boat, with entry from a sandy or rubble bottom that shelves quickly into a deeper canyon or wall section. The site is known for its clear tropical water and strong currents, so it suits experienced divers with proper surface support and a buoyant descent. Visibility is commonly good, and you may encounter a variety of reef fish, wrapping around the canyon walls, plus soft corals and overhangs typical of Mauritian reefs. As with most oceanic sites around Mauritius, plan for a current-aware dive and monitor local conditions before entering the water.
