El Port De La Selva

Cala Giulosa

Cala Giulosa is a local Mediterranean dive site near the Costa Brava, accessible from the towns of el Port de la Selva, Cadaqués and Llançà within a short drive. The site features rocky coastal topography typical of Catalonia with gently sloping seabeds and sheltered bays that can offer calm conditions on calmer days. Expect clear to moderate visibility and a typical mix of Western Mediterranean fauna, including groupers, small jacks, wrasses, octopus and moray eels, with posidonia meadows in the shallower zones. Access is straightforward from the coast, with entry usually from rocky shores and a short swim to the reefy sections. This is a straightforward site suitable for recreational divers, especially in good weather, though currents and surge can occur with sea conditions. Nearby protected areas and local centres offer guided dives and local knowledge on tides and access. Divers should plan for local regulations and marine life interactions and respect the coastal environment.
