Batu Malang

Batu Malang is a shallow coral reef site near Tioman Island, accessed from the nearby town of Tioman. The site features a gently sloping reef saddle with healthy corals, small reef flats and scattered bommies. Expect mild currents, clear tropical water, and typical Indo-Pacific reef inhabitants such as damselfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, wrasses, and nudibranchs, with occasional larger reef dwellers. Entry is from a sandy or rocky shoreline/boat drop, with a straightforward exit. It’s best suited to recreational divers and those new to reef diving, offering straightforward navigation and a relaxed profile. The ride depth usually remains within a few to several meters, making it a good option for a drift-free shallow dive from Tioman. Nearby access from Tioman town is convenient, and it sits within a short boat ride from the main Tioman dive centers.
