Semporna
Barracuda Point Sipadan
Barracuda Point is a world-renowned wall and drift dive site off Sipadan Island, known for its dramatic vertical drop-offs and swarming barracuda schools. The site sits in clear tropical waters with strong currents that attract pelagic action, including bigeye trevally and reef sharks, especially during the annual surge. Divers typically approach from Sipadan Island, entering over a sloped, relatively gentle start that gradually becomes deeper, with the main wall descending well past 20 meters. The site features rich coral gardens, cave-like crevices, and plentiful macro life in the shallows. Visibility is often good, and sea conditions can change with tides, so planning around currents is advised. Barracuda Point attracts divers seeking a combination of exhilarating current drift, schooling fish, and accessible entry from a protected anchorage near Semporna.
