Banc Doré

Banc Doré is a small offshore reef site near Saint-Leu, typically featuring a gentle sloping seabed with scattered rocky outcrops and sandy patches. The site is known for clear water and easy access, making it a suitable option for beginners and intermediate divers exploring the local underwater topography. Expect mild currents, especially on drift-friendly days, with a backdrop of typical reef‑associated life such as damselfish, angelfish, wrasse, and occasional moray eels; black durgons or lemonfish may also be spotted along the drop-offs. Visibility can vary with tides, but in calm conditions it offers pleasant, relaxed dives close to the Le Diable coast. Access is straightforward from nearby towns, and the site is often combined with a visit to the Saint-Leu reef systems.
