3 Houses is a shallow, regular dive site off the coast near Água de Pau on the island of São Miguel. The site comprises a series of rocky outcrops and small crevices that create gentle topography suitable for entry from a calm shore or boat. Expect easy depth around a few metres to mid-_depths, with sandy patches and scattered boulders that attract a range of coastal species. Visibility is typically fair to good in calm conditions, and currents are usually mild, making it a good choice for beginners or those building buoyancy and navigation skills. Proximity to the Água de Pau area gives access to nearby dive centers for equipment and guided dives. The site lies within a volcanic, rocky seabed context common to the Azores archipelago, with Mediterranean-like temperate marine life including wrasse, sea urchins, small groupers, and bivalves in the rocky crevices.
