Fort De Soto

Fort De Soto is a coastal city in Florida that serves mainly as a gateway for recreational diving in the Tampa Bay area. It offers access to nearby saltwater dive sites along the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf coast, with a number of dive centers and charters operating out of the surrounding beaches and marinas. The area is characterized by shallow reefs, wrecks, and sand flats suitable for beginner to intermediate divers, with visibility and conditions that vary seasonally. In addition to sea-based diving, the nearby freshwater Maas River is far away and not a typical local dive site for this area.
