Eydhafushi

Eydhafushi sits in the southern atolls of the Maldives and acts as a local hub for island-based diving. With a small cluster of guesthouses and a handful of dive operators, it serves as a practical base for day trips to nearby reef walls, drift dives, and manta/whale shark encounters typical of the central Indian Ocean atoll system. The area offers warm, turbid-free tropical waters, good visibility on many days, and abundant reef life around house reefs and surrounding atolls. Expect gentle to moderate currents, with macro critters and schooling reef fish common in shallow to mid-depths. Access is primarily by speedboat from Malé or neighboring atolls, making Eydhafushi a convenient stop for divers exploring South Maalhosmadulu and the Laccadive Sea.
