Miami is a major coastal city in Florida with convenient access to Atlantic-adjacent reefs and the Gulf of Mexico via day trips and nearby dive centers. While the city itself sits on a saltwater coast, most diving around Miami is reached by boat trips from the coast to nearby reefs and wrecks in the Florida Keys and Broward/Palm Beach areas, as well as deeper wrecks further offshore. A handful of dive centers operate in the city and nearby counties, offering recreational courses, equipment rentals, and boat charters. In addition to seawater diving, there are local freshwater options outside the city for training or shallow dives if needed, though these are not typical destination sites for most divers. Expect warm water, subtropical marine life, occasional currents, and visibility affected by weather and season.
