Sand City

Sand City sits along California’s central coast, not far from Monterey Bay. It isn’t a primary diving hub, but the nearby coastline and Monterey Bay area host a range of dive centers and popular dive sites. Local diving access is via coastal piers, local wrecks and reefs accessible from nearby towns, plus opportunities for kelp forest dives further offshore. The closest dive centers operate along the central California coast, offering courses, gear rental, and guided dives. Water is cold and visibility varies with conditions; expect strong currents on some sites and marine life typical of central California, including rockfish, lingcod, seals, and seasonal invertebrates.
