Wilaya Ya Mafia

Mafia Island is a coastal region in eastern Tanzania known for its clear tropical waters and reef-and-wall diving along the Indian Ocean. The region’s dive sites are typically accessed from fishing towns with small dive centers, offering drift dives, coral gardens, and opportunities to see reef fish, turtles, and occasional reef sharks. Given its island geography, most diving is driven by boat trips from the Mafia Island area, with calm to moderate sea conditions and warm water year-round. The Mafia archipelago also provides calmer inland waters for surface intervals and land-based wildlife viewing on the island.
