Pwani Region

Pwani Region offers coastal and offshore scuba diving along Tanzania's eastern shores. The region is characterized by warm Indian Ocean waters, generally calm conditions nearshore, and the potential for reef, wall, and drift diving within reach of ports and major centers. With around a dozen dive sites spread along its coastline and in nearby marine habitats, divers can expect tropical fish, corals, and healthy reef structures typical of Tanzanian marine ecosystems. Access is primarily via coastal towns and regional hubs, with diving trips commonly organized from larger cities along the coast. This administrative region encompasses a mix of beaches, fishing communities, and marine protected areas that contribute to diverse dive experiences for recreational divers.
