Lucerne is a landlocked administrative region in central Switzerland. The area itself sits inland with no local sea or coastal dive sites, and diving opportunities are primarily found in freshwater lakes and rivers nearby, as well as driving short distances to alpine reservoirs and international trips. The nearby divers’ hubs concentrate on Swiss lakes and cross-border diving in adjacent regions, with a small number of local dive centers offering training and shallow-water dives. Expect cool, clear freshwater with good visibility in lakes such as Lake Lucerne’s environs and other alpine bodies, plus spring-fed rivers in the broader region.
