Dakar

Dakar is a coastal city in Senegal and a major gateway for West African diving. While the city itself is not a dive site, it hosts a handful of dive centers and serves as a launching point for boat trips to nearby offshore reefs and wrecks along the Atlantic coast. Expect warm marine conditions, moderate visibility, and a variety of pelagic and reef-associated species at regional dive sites. The Dakar area also offers opportunities for shore dives and day trips to nearby fishing ports where occasional marine life interactions can be observed. For freshwater diving, options are limited in the immediate surroundings, so most divers focus on coastal, saltwater diving off the Atlantic shore.
