Tateyama

Tateyama in Chiba is a coastal city on the western side of the Bōsō Peninsula facing the Philippine Sea. It serves as a gateway for nearby coastal dive sites, with a handful of local dive centers that offer day trips and shore diving access. While the city itself isn’t a long-standing dive hub, it provides practical access to short boat journeys and coastal reefs along the Pacific coast, with typical visibility and water temperatures that attract local divers. There are freshwater options nearby, such as Lake Hinuma for training or leisure diving in a non-coastal context, but most diving activity remains coastal and tide-dependent in the region.
