La Maddalena

La Maddalena is a small island town in Sardinia, Italy, known as a gateway to the Maddalena Archipelago. The area is popular for boat-accessed diving from shore and boats, with several dive centers operating nearby and a concentration of sheltered coves and underwater scenery. Given the town’s position in a protected archipelago, currents can vary and visibility is seasonal; most diving focuses on reef-like structures, small walls, and marine life typical of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Access is straightforward by ferry or boat from Olbia or Palau, and water is generally clear with Mediterranean fish, octopus, and occasionally larger inhabitants depending on the site.
