Somme is an inland administrative region in Hauts-de-France, with limited direct marine diving. The Scarpe river and nearby freshwater environments offer reflective, recreational opportunities, but the region itself is not a primary diving destination. Nearby coastal zones along La Manche provide the official saltwater access, yet within Somme proper the diving relevance is mainly infrastructural and cultural rather than substantial underwater exploration. Divers typically base themselves in coastal Hauts-de-France towns and make day trips to offshore sites, while inland towns like Amiens, Montdidier and Corbie highlight historic architecture and canal-adjacent scenery.
