Landes

The Landes region, in southwestern France, offers access to Atlantic coast diving along the Bay of Biscay. While the area is more known for sandy shores and pine forests, nearby coastlines provide opportunities for coastal dives, wreck exploration to the north and areas around the Côte d'Argent. The region's diving is typical of temperate Atlantic conditions with mild to cool water, moderate visibility, and a variety of coastal habitats accessed from established towns such as Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, Mimizan, and Parentis-en-Born. Expect shore-entry or short boat trips from local dive centers serving the Landes coastline, with potential for seasonal marine life including common coastal species and occasional larger pelagic movement closer to deeper Atlantic may not be a primary feature of the region.
