Bouches Du Rhône

Bouches-du-Rhône sits on the Mediterranean coast in southern France, with common access to diving around the Gulf of Lion and offshore from the Marseille area. Divers typically find rocky reefs, ledges, and drop-offs, plus occasional artificial structures and wrecks on selected sites. Conditions are strongly seasonal: in warmer months visibility can be good, while winter brings cooler water and more variable currents. Marine life often includes Mediterranean reef species such as groupers, octopus, and nudibranchs, along with schooling fish on the brighter days. Popular launch points include Marseille and nearby coastal towns (for example Carry-le-Rouet), alongside inland dive travel from Aix-en-Provence and Istres for day trips to the coast and islands.
