Bangkok is a metropolitan region in central Thailand. While the city itself is inland from the Gulf of Thailand, it has limited local diving options within day trips nearby, primarily in freshwater or short coastal excursions along canals and reservoirs. Most diving in the greater Bangkok area occurs outside the city limits, with nearby coastal destinations offering offshore reef, wreck, and island diving. Access is via short domestic flights or overland routes to regional dive hubs.
