Baan Chaweng

Baan Chaweng is a coastal area on the Gulf of Thailand near Ko Samui. As a city, it isn’t a major dive hub, but the region offers access to nearby reef-diving along the Gulf of Thailand and to local dive centers around Koh Samui and nearby islands. Water conditions are typical warm tropical saltwater with clear visibility on good days; expect reef life and occasional macro dives in the area. For divers, the practical draw is proximity to island-based dive centers and boat trips from Ko Samui and sister islands, rather than a city-centric diving scene.
