Kendwa

Kendwa is a small coastal village on Zanzibar’s northwest coast, known for its white-sand beaches and easy access to the island’s dive offerings. While Kendwa itself is not a primary dive hub, it sits within reach of popular reef sites around Zanzibar and nearby marine parks. Local centers offer beginner and recreational courses, gear rental, and boat dives to nearby reefs and wall dives. Expect warm tropical water, generally calm conditions, and abundant coral, reef fish, and occasional sightings of turtles or reef sharks depending on the site. Freshwater diving is not part of Kendwa’s draw, and most diving is driven by day trips from the coastal towns around Nungwi and Kendwa.
