South Misool

South Misool is a coastal area in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, within the Ceram Sea of the Indian Ocean. The region is renowned for its pristine marine biodiversity and dramatic wall and reef systems, but the immediate area around South Misool is less developed for dive tourism compared with central Raja Ampat. Access is typically via liveaboard or charters from larger hubs in Raja Ampat or Sorong. Local diving is generally centered on the surrounding reefs and walls with clear waters, vibrant coral communities, macro life, and frequent encounters with reef fish, turtles, and reef sharks in season. Since there are very few dedicated dive centers right at the point, most diving requires boat trips from nearby ports and liveaboard arrangements.
