Provence Alpes Côte D'azur

Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is a Mediterranean diving region on the southern coast of France, spanning areas from the Var coast and the Îles d’Hyères to the Marseille coastline and beyond. Dives are typically from shore and small boats, with rocky reefs, sand patches, and deeper drop-offs along the ridges and coastal slopes. Conditions are usually seasonal: visibility can be best in calm periods, while summer water temperatures rise and winter brings cooler, more variable conditions. Marine life commonly includes octopus, cuttlefish, octavius/cephalopods, groupers and wrasses, plus many nudibranchs and other reef invertebrates. Around the larger ports and islands, divers often find more depth and current exposure on select walls and channels. The region is well suited for recreational scuba, with occasional sites that go deeper for experienced divers.
