Zurrieq Cave

Zurrieq Cave is a shallow coastal cave dive near Sliema and the Qrendi area, formed by natural limestone caverns with entries that open into clear, blue waters. The site is known for easy penetration through a sea cave system, with a gentle drift along the rock walls inside. Typical conditions are calm, with good visibility and a gentle current that suits beginner to intermediate divers. Entrance is from a rocky shore, and dives commonly explore the main cave passages, small chambers, and the adjacent rocky reef edges where Mediterranean fauna such as groupers, moray eels, wrasses, and octopus may be seen around limestone outcrops and Posidonia seagrass zones. The site is best suited to dives from local shore or short boat trips and can be combined with nearby areas around the Mdina region for a multi-site day.
