West Ridge, Sipadan Island
West Ridge, Sipadan Island is a wall dive on the eastern side of Sipadan, offering a vertical topography with pronounced drop-offs from around 6 to 25 meters. The site is accessed from a gentle entry point and features healthy hard corals and a variety of reef fish typical of the Sabah region. Strong currents can occur, making it more suitable for confident divers with buoyancy control and drift experience. Expect chances to encounter swirling schools of trevally and snappers, reef sharks on occasion, and a vibrant inshore reef ecosystem around the ridge. Visibility is often good, though it can be affected by plankton blooms and sea conditions. The site lies within the Sipadan area, with nearby dive centers that support daily liveaboard and day-trip departures from Semporna.
