Tancha Tower is a shallow reef dive site off Onna, located on Okinawa’s central coast. The site features a sunken tower structure that sits along a sloping reef with mixed sand patches and abundant macro life. Entry is straightforward from shore or a local boat, with a typical depth range staying in the shallower zone. The topography includes a gentle slope to around a few tens of meters, with the tower as a focal point for drift-free exploration and easy navigation. Expect typical tropical Ryukyu waters: a variety of reef fish, damselfish, fusiliers, small octocorals, and occasional reef invertebrates. Conditions are generally calm, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. Proximity to Onna’s lodging and easy access from nearby towns like Kin and Yomitan makes Tancha Tower a convenient, relaxed dive within a north Okinawa itinerary.
