Slikken Van Flakkee

Slikken van Flakkee is a shallow, sheltered coastal dive site on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee off the southwestern Netherlands. The site sits at the interface between shallow sand and algal beds with gently sloping bottoms and easy-entry conditions, making it a good choice for beginner to intermediate divers and for practice dives. Visibilty varies with season and weather, typically ranging from fair to good under calm conditions. The area features typical Dutch coastal fauna such as flatfish, small schooling fish, crustaceans, and resident polychaetes among seagrass and sandy patches. Expect broader macro opportunities around sandy patches and eelgrass meadows, with calm currents at most points. Access is straightforward from nearby towns, and shore and boat-diving options are available depending on tides and local permissions.
