Santa Marta
Santa Marta is a shore dive site located off Cascais, Portugal, in the Atlantic Ocean. The site sits close to the coast with easy entry from the rocks and a fairly gentle return. Typical conditions are mild current and clear to moderately clear water, making it a suitable option for recreational divers staying in the Lisbon coast. The dive begins on a shallow reefy area with sandy patches and features a mix of rocky outcrops and gentle slopes that slope down toward deeper water. Expect common Atlantic species such as wrasses, sea bream, and occasionally octopus, with good chances to see small schools of fish around the rocky structures. Because access is straightforward from Cascais and nearby towns, Santa Marta is popular for shorter local dives and for practice courses when weather allows.
