Yomitan
Sand Cross
Sand Cross is a local Okinawa dive site near Yomitan, Kadena, and Onna. The site lies in shallow coastal waters typical of the region, with easy access from nearby towns and a sandy/ruined bottom feature that gives divers a calm, relaxed dive environment. Expect clear blue water, gentle currents, and good visibility in calm conditions. The bottom is predominantly sandy with scattered patches of seagrass and occasional small debris or rocks that create light habitat for macro life. This site is suitable for beginners and snorkeling-friendly introductory dives, as well as entry-level training dives conducted by nearby dive centers. Marine life tends toward common tropical coastal species, including small reef fish, wrasses, and damselfish, with occasional rays or larger fish passing through during favorable conditions.
