Capoliveri

Punta Morcone

Punta Morcone is a small, shallow dive site suitable for shore entries along Elba’s southern coast. The site generally features rocky-reef topography with gentle slopes starting near the surface and stepping down toward deeper mixed sand and rocks. Expect clear, mellow conditions typical of calm coastal days, making it convenient for beginners and for practicing buoyancy and safety skills. Marine life is representative of the Tyrrhenian Sea with small mediterranean fish, pufferfish and octopuses often seen around rocky patches and occasional camouflaged scorpionfish in crevices. Entry is straightforward from a protected beach area, with easy exits at low to moderate depths. Visibility varies with sea conditions but is commonly decent for coastal diving. The site lies within easy reach of Capoliveri and Porto Azzurro, both a short drive away, while Rio nell’Elba is a bit farther but still accessible for a day trip.
