Popobawa

Popobawa is a local dive site near the northern coast of Zanzibar. The site sits in shallow to moderate depths typical for coastal reef diving, with straightforward entry from the shore and easy access from nearby towns. Expect clear tropical water, gentle currents, and typical East African reef life. Divers commonly encounter a variety of reef fishes, occasional rays, and healthy coral formations in the shallows, with more diverse life and structure at greater depths reached from nearby drop-offs. The site is suitable for beginners on guided dives as well as more experienced divers exploring the nearby fringing reefs.
